Amanda Segal is head of Katten’s Distressed and Special Situations Investing practice. In this role, Amanda advises banks, special opportunity funds, asset managers and financial institutions of all types on the acquisition and sale of distressed assets, including bank loans, trade claims, trust interests, and private securities, and on more bespoke opportunities relating to litigation claims and other special-situation investments. With over 20 years of experience, Amanda has a deep understanding of the distressed market and appreciation for her clients’ business objectives. She can quickly and effectively identify risks and develop tailored, strategic solutions to complex trading issues. Drawing on her background as a restructuring attorney, Amanda also represents clients on transactional matters related to in-court and out-of-court restructurings.

Amanda received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a BA from Duke University.
